Big news, big night: The morning (is it?) after

Did he sleep at all last night? He may have tried, long after he and Kate had exhausted themselves with talking and crying and laughing. It's hard to say too, when he first noticed that he was lying awake, watching the light in the room change. (Of course, he'd been told, that there isn't sunlight here, as such, but the facsimile is fine enough.)

The scar in his side tells him he is dead, but in faith, lying here beside his wife, his own Kate, he feels nothing of the sort.

Now, is she sleeping still? He slides closer, and plants a kiss just so on her bare shoulder.

Harry has no further conversation in mind, he just wants to slip one arm about her waist and pull them closer together.

Kate chuckles and hauls herself up to kiss his lips.

"Best that we do this now," she murmurs, "before there's three of us abed each night."

He grins, and slips a hand behind his head. "I will devote myself utterly to such pursuits, I swear it."

"And leave your other studies lacking? Fie, i'faith, then who will teach the child to play at swords?"

[valiantrebel]

"Yea, but I cannot do that now. We must settle for you fencing with me."

Kate grins a wicked grin.

"A valiant swordsman you have proved," she says, tapping her fingers on his chest. "Your steel's well-forged."

[valiantrebel]

"A well-established fact." He wags his eyebrows. "Though you do drive and parry passing well."

[tiltingwithlips]

"'Tis nothing that I fight with, sir, nothing."

[valiantrebel]

"Oh, you lie, woman." He sits up and sets his hands on her hips. "I will see thee proven so."

Which involves kissing, for a start.

"Only in my lord's bed," she sighs.

Now did someone say something about kissing?

There is so much a man can do while occupied thusly. If his hands are on his lady love's hips, they can work upward to heaven, or downward, also heaven.

If the lady is too celestial, he is, by the grace of God, compelled to tumble her back into the bed and attend to his affections from above.

Oh, do not think so, or think so at your peril. For surely it's a sin to place oneself above the angels?

So it's purely out of concern for Harry's immortal soul that Kate, laughing, takes him by the shoulders and attempts to flip him over.

She half succeeds! Harry lands sitting up and back against the headboard, all splayed and twisted in the sheets. A very easy target, for those who would come and get it.

Kate pounces, albeit a little slowly since she's still waking up; she straddles his lap and pins his shoulders against the headboard.

"Well, sir? What say you now?"

This is more by way of being a courtesy question, apparently, since she leans in to kiss him before he can answer.

When she gives him the space to speak, he grins, though he does not move far off. "I will call thee a liar from here until doomsday if you will renounce it so, and more."

He pushes against her and winds one arm around her waist. With the other hand, he runs his fingers over the nape of her neck, and then pulls her in to stop her mouth again.

She groans, stroking her thumb over his collarbone.

"Thou slanderer," she breathes, "you put your tongue to wicked use."

And there's his hand at her inner thigh. "Come, come, there's good work it can do yet."

"Tut, tut, but words." She trails her own fingers along his chest. "The proof is in the action."

"Is it?"

And his hand slides between her legs.

"Then Harry Percy is your man, my lady."

His fingers start in a slow circle.

"Ha."

She nuzzles, then nibbles, his neck.

"And well I know it."

To the very end of the universe, he's hers.

His eyes slip shut, and he bows his head. A deep inhalation, hold, and let it out. His hand, that speeds up a little, and seeks a little lower still.

The sound that slips out from her throat is a little less controlled than she might have liked. She presses her fingers -- the pads, then the nails -- against his chest.

His lips find his way to her throat, at the hinge of her jaw. He nips where the skin thrums, and leans into her. Again, at the joint of her shoulder and neck; again, at the hollow between her collarbones.

One finger he slips inside her. Patiently, patiently.

"You are a villain," she sighs, tipping her head back and sliding her hands to his biceps, "and a rogue, and a right scoundrel to bait a lady so."

He chuckles. "Peace! Unless you'd rather I go charging in." He nips her lower lip. "I am a craftsman at work at present."
